³ We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

³ We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.

⁴ So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:

⁵這正是神公義判斷的明證．叫你們可算配得神的國、你們就是為這國受苦。

⁵ [Which is] a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

⁵ All this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.

⁶神既是公義的、就必將患難報應那加患難給你們的人．

⁶ Seeing [it is] a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

⁶ God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you

⁷也必使你們這受患難的人、與我們同得平安．那時、主耶穌同他有能力的天使、從天上在火焰中顯現、

⁷ And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

⁷ and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.

KJV中的 In flaming fire是形容報應，在和合本和NIV中則形容主耶穌的顯現。

⁸要報應那不認識神、和那不聽從我主耶穌福音的人。

⁸ In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

⁸ He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

KJV中的 In flaming fire 在帖前3:8節，而在和合本和NIV中則在帖前3:7節。

⁹他們要受刑罰，就是永遠沉淪，離開主的面和他權能的榮光。

⁹ Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

和合本中的榮光與KJV中的 glory和NIV中的majesty有些微分別。榮光是實則事物而glory和majesty稍為抽像。

¹⁰這正是主降臨要在他聖徒的身上得榮耀、又在一切信的人身上顯為希奇的那日子．（我們對你們作的見證、你們也信了。）

¹⁰ When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

¹⁰ on the day he comes to be glorified in his holy people and to be marveled at among all those who have believed. This includes you, because you believed our testimony to you.

¹¹因此、我們常為你們禱告、願我們的　神看你們配得過所蒙的召．又用大能成就你們一切所羨慕的良善、和一切因信心所作的工夫．

¹¹ Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of [this] calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of [his] goodness, and the work of faith with power:

¹¹ With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.

¹²叫我們主耶穌的名、在你們身上得榮耀、你們也在他身上得榮耀、都照我們的　神並主耶穌基督的恩。

¹² That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
